Submission Deadline Announcement for Volume 2!

Oh hello. It's been a while since we last spoke. How are you? Great to hear. Us? Thanks for asking! We got caught up in the intoxication of summer. We swam in the Great Lakes of Michigan, we bicycled in the Highlands of the North. We fell asleep to the sounds of birds and the glow of the early morning sun. This is the cause of our delay in publishing. Sometimes, for a few glorious warm months, one casts away their responsibilities in order to spend a season care-free. Forgive us though, for with the inevitable demise of summer and the glorious funeral autumn provides for it, we have returned to announce the next issue of le jolie rouge.

The deadline for submissions is October 28th, tentatively. This date may change but it will only be moved later. Submission guidelines are as follows:

The format for submissions is open to you, this meaning all genres of the printed arts are welcome. Submissions should be kept to 4-5 pages at max due to size constraints for the zine. At our deadline, we will decide which submissions are published at our discretion however we are not biased to any form. Submissions can be sent electronically to: lejolierouge.zine@gmail.com. If your submission is not electronic, email us and we will make an arrangement. We can also be contacted at (313) 718-1064 where you can leave a voice message, audio submission or text message sized short story.

Notice: In the past, we have received submissions of pencil on paper, marker scanned and sent through email and images which translate to black and white poorly. We attempted to reproduce these submissions as dutifully as possible however, copy machines do not always comply. Therefore we are advising you to take into consideration the translation from creation to copy. If a submission is to go to print, and the translation is of sub-par quality, we have no choice but to pull it from the final product. All questions and concerns can be addressed to lejolierouge.zine@gmail.com.

Volume Two, Issue One: le jolie rouge, Second Quarter double issue

:JUNE 12th/submission deadline:

To consider the time that has passed since you've last heard from us a loss would be in poor nature. This is the beat that our heart skipped... the pangs, so to speak.

With this we bring you the announcement of Volume Two, Issue One: le jolie rouge, Second Quarter double issue.
Oh this blossoming sweetness or the drifter's map toward home... this the idea. Let your longing speak true and your heart cry wild.

Submission deadline is June 12th with a print date of June 18th. As always, the work is yours and can be submitted any way you'd like. Consider the printed page and translation of generations three.

Le Jolie Rouge Issue 4: Our box is wide open. Deadline January 31, 2011

We sit in our office in the glow of a still erected Christmas tree. It may seem that the weight of the winter has quieted the march but those boots won't be left on the porch any longer. Like cowboys in their underwear, shaking the malaise off our one piece thermals, baked beans ran dry, Hi Ho Silver Motherfuckers.
